The run started at Chilford Hall & Vineyard where we had our briefing and a nice breakfast.  The route took us to the South and West of Cambridge via the villages of Balsham, Fulbourn and Shelford, then, via Trumpington, we made our way through Granchester on the way to Madingley via the “Backs” of Cambridge City and on to Wimpole Hall, where we stopped for a picnic lunch and a chat.

On leaving Wimpole Hall we made our way to the West and North of Cambridge through the pretty villages of Bourn, Boxworth, Swavesey and Willingham) before reaching the edge of the Fens at Earith.  From there we travelled East through Haddenham, Wilburton and Stretham before turning south through the byways to meet the River Cam at Upware then on to Swaffham Prior and Swaffham Bulbeck before arriving at our final destination of Anglesey Abbey.

The weather was not very kind – being overcast and a bit chilly, so there were not many hoods down on our Alpines and Tigers, but the rain held off so the run was much enjoyed by everyone.  We now have to decide what  to do in 2010.
